Where do I start….. Some of this info is sure to be a repeat if you have read any of my previous articles.  We will also go into Why organic instead of conventional.

The most important and basic argument is your health! It has been proven over and over that consuming animal products can lead to obesity, heart disease, high cholesterol and blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer just to name a few. A diet rich in plants gives you many health boosting nutrients such as antioxidants, vitamins/minerals/micronutrients, and polyphenols. These nourish your gut, body, and mind.  Animal products are also loaded with antibiotics which go right into your body and destroy your microbiome. The diet most animals are fed is rich in non-nutrient grain containing the wrong kind of fat. Most animals are raised in large lots that deplete the soil of nutrients, use an exorbitant amount of water, and destroy tons of forest area.

Now take a look at why organically grown food is so important for us and the environment.

Start with the lack of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers used. These have been deemed dangerous and cancer causing. These chemicals also strip the soil of vital nutrients leaving your food lacking the vitamins your body needs.  When rains carry these chemicals into our water source, it is yet another way we are ingesting them.

When you want to splurge, purchase regeneratively grown animal products. They will be free of antibiotics and synthetic pesticide/fertilizers, leave more nutrients in the soil, have higher levels of healthy omega-3 fats and phytonutrients.
